Production policy

Please visit http://www.afm.org for current pay scales for musicians performing the below listed types of work.

Contracts:
Contracts must be submitted for review by our entertainment attorney prior to start of production, if approved.

Payment for film / TV / radio / theatrical:
As a member of American Federation of Musicians, local 579, I am to be paid in accordance with pay scales as set forth by AFM, plus applicable royalties.

Low budget / indie (short run) productions:
The fee is negotiable on productions which are not intended to be mass produced, sponsored works which would otherwise be covered under AFM payment guidelines.

Original compositions I write for games:
Compositions I write for videogames are $1500 per minute of completed score, plus one percent royalty.

Original compositions for film / TV / radio / theatrical:
Please consult AFM guidelines for current pay scale.

Original compositions for low budget / indie:
Fees are negotiable, unless the production is mass produced, sponsored work covered under AFM guidelines.

Regarding graphic / verbal vulgarity:
While it is not my position to interfere with free speech, freedom of expression, or other freedoms which pertain to "art", I reserve the right to decline production work for, or with any entity which engages in graphic, or verbal vulgarity / nudity beyond the legal and acceptable use of language / visuals associated with R rated productions as set forth by the FCC, and film associations.

If a production I produce work for violates the above after I have submitted work, and I have not been informed of the intent to include vulgarity of any kind in the production, I reserve the right to demand the discontinuation of the use of and or removal of my work from the production without refund for work which I have performed in good faith, unless the producer agrees to remove the vulgar content.

It is the producer's responsibility to provide, in advance of production, a copy of the entire script, and a statement setting forth the exact content of the production to be considered.

Any works found to contain illegal or pornographic matter which violates federal, state, and or local laws will be reported.
